Discover Mogliano and its surroundings

Updated: Oct 13

The villa is located just outside Mogliano, a medieval town with cobbled streets, churches, and a central piazza where locals gather. Walking through Mogliano is like entering a postcard: bakeries, artisan shops, and a weekly market where you can find cheeses, cured meats, vegetables, and handmade goods. Nearby villages such as Loro Piceno, Colmurano, and Petriolo offer the same charm, each with their own stories, festivals, and local products. It’s the perfect setting for guests who want to experience the true Italian lifestyle, far from mass tourism.

Artisans and traditions

One of the treasures of Le Marche is its living tradition of craftsmanship. Around Mogliano you’ll find workshops of leather artisans, basket weavers, and woodworkers who keep alive techniques passed down through generations. Many are happy to open their doors, show their process, and sell unique items that make perfect souvenirs.

Food and wine – at the heart of Marche life

Le Marche is a region made for slow living and eating well. Every meal is an experience: from rustic trattorias serving tagliatelle al ragù to elegant seafood restaurants on the Adriatic coast.

  • In Mogliano, enjoy an aperitivo in the main square.

  • For a picnic, pick up local specialties: salumi, cheeses, olive ascolane, and fresh bread.

  • For wine lovers, the Muròla winery near Urbisaglia is a must-visit, offering tastings of Verdicchio, Rosso Piceno, and Vernaccia di Serrapetrona.

Food isn’t just nourishment here — it’s the soul of the culture.

Nature and activities

The landscape around Villa Casa dei Sogni is incredibly varied, offering opportunities for both relaxation and adventure:

  • Countryside: rolling hills, sunflower fields, vineyards, and olive groves perfect for walks or photo tours.

  • Sport: trekking, cycling, mountain biking, and paragliding are all within easy reach.

  • Water: kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding on the Adriatic, or simply relaxing on sandy and pebble beaches.

If you prefer calm, the villa itself is your private retreat: a pool with panoramic views, sun loungers, and a terrace for reading or sipping wine.

Beaches near Mogliano

From Mogliano, the Adriatic coast is about an hour’s drive away. Each beach has its own personality:

  • Numana: soft sand, easy parking, family-friendly beach clubs.

  • Sirolo: two options, Urbani (comfortable, fully equipped) and San Michele (wilder, natural).

  • Portonovo: a hidden bay beneath Monte Conero, famous for turquoise water and seafood restaurants.

  • Le Due Sorelle: the most spectacular beach, reachable only by boat or kayak from Numana or Sirolo.

  • Shada – Civitanova: this is the closest one to the villa, just shy of 40 minutes away (accounting for traffic). Here you can enjoy all of the comforts for your beach day: sunbeds, beach umbrellas, Shada's bar-café and its restaurant, where you can enjoy the finest fish-based dishes you can find around.

Arrive early for parking and calmer waters, especially in summer.

Culture and small-town life

Beyond the villa and the sea, Le Marche is a region of culture.

  • Macerata: famous for its open-air opera festival at the Sferisterio.

  • Recanati: hometown of poet Giacomo Leopardi, with a charming historic center.

  • Fermo: stunning piazza, Roman cisterns, and lively summer events.

  • Local sagre (festivals): from wine harvests to truffle fairs, these events bring together food, music, and tradition.

At night, you can choose between quiet evenings in the piazza or nightlife on the coast at places like Shada, where Italians celebrate summer by the sea.
